Yesterday I walked into Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs with an unusually large wallet. I exited with a much thinner wallet; however, wielding a brand new splitboard! As soon as I inquired about purchasing a setup the manager immediately was there to provide exemplary service.

Not only did I get a killer deal on the setup, they also set the entire board up for me, gave it a wax, and encouraged me to come in for complimentary tunes! So, hows she handle? my setup: Jones Solution 161, Spark R&D Burner Lt bindings, and G3 Alpinist skins. As soon as I got my split the mountain was already closed, good thing that skins work after 4! I set

out on my first adventure and

decided to skin up to the top of See Me at Steamboat. The s

ystem was light, easy to use and the skins were holding their own, from a straight ascent up a considerable pitch to maintaining traction on boilerplate terrain. Upon arrival at the top in about 35 minutes time, it felt like a victory, never had I ever felt so pumped about making turns down a firm groomer like this before. Ripping off my skins as a light snow fell I quickly and easily constructed the Solution into a weapon of shred. As for the board, it RAILED! Camber between the feet added a nice flex and responsiveness to the board (who said splits are not as good as normal boards?!) It had solid edge hold on the ice and the shape of the board complimented the flex with an amazing turnshape. Unfortunately, in my excitement to get out and try it out I forgot my phone and camera and was unable to document the excursion. I defiantly recommend this product to any advanced to expert rider looking to expand their opportunities. I will post further reviews in weeks to come with photos and detail! Stay tuned, educate yourself before making the investment and you will not be sorry you did so!

Keep Sliding!
