Avoiding and getting rid of SUNBURNS
Nobody likes a sunburn especially when it peels and makes you look like a spotting animal... Here are some good tips on how to avoid getting a sunburn especially in high altitude areas, as well as; ways to help treat a sunburn and avoid peeling.
Avoidance-
-Were goggles (the reflection of the sun over snow or water will bypass the protection of shades and burn your eyes.)
-suntan lotion (SPF 30 and under on cloudy days, SPF 30 and over on sunny days.)
-Even on hot…

Gotta love it when it's 78 degrees on April 10th. I don't think I have ever seen a sadder looking closing week. But on the upside, we will get a summer this year! Instead of last year where we had winter until the middle of June, this year we're starting summer in April. This means tubing will come that much quicker! As much as I love the winter in Steamboat I love the summer so much more. There is so much more to do and the torrists are spread out so much more. So grab your shorts and get…

Time for the next season!
As the season has abruptly come to a close... I've seen more bikes, skateboards, rafts, etc. out on the town than I have skiiers on the mountain... with all of this beautiful weather happening none of it can be wasted on pouting about the lack of snow this year... the days will roll on and all of us should take advantage of early opportunities to get out hiking, biking, camping, or whatever your choice of activity is... Just remember that the sun is hot an it WILL give you a nasty sunburn...…

Seasons over :(
Well its basically the end of this ski season. Ya it wasn't the best of snow years, but I still had a good time skiing and riding. Thinking back on the year I had my least amount of days on the hill in probably five years, but learned how to ski and got pretty decent at it. We had one great month of snow and a record breaking 24 hour snow total here in Steamboat, so it wasn't all bad. I also got to go to Jackson Hole and shred some steeps and some awesome pow. I had my first skinning…

Beacons are Placed! Beacon and Eggs is ON!
Neither wind, nor lifts closed, nor freezing fingers can delay Beacon and Eggs. I skinned up and placed the 5 fellows this afternoon and scored fresh cord down Buddy's to what had to be the best Tornado Lane I've ever skied. Come on out, the snow is still soft and you can't beat the weather. Not to mention, we're handing out a pair of skis tomorrow!…

So this past weekend I got to shred the gnar out in Utah at Powder Mountain, although there wasn't any powder it was still better than mud. It was a wonderful weekend riding with my parents and enjoying the ice. The season is coming to an end and the only thing I can think about is the amount of fun I am going to be having tubing!

Where will you be for steamboats closing day?
Yesterday, due to the lack of snow from the season, Steamboat resort closed the bottom half of the mountain. Now you must ride the gondi up and head to Storm Peak or morning side and then download on the gondi to get back to the base. So who has called there last days? anyone still out shredding or has everyone moved on to summer activities for the season, I dont know what I'll do. I hear breck and key have more snow so maybe ill go there for closing day!
