Is it winter out there? Yes! With the snow just keepin on keepin on this may turn out to be a season you didn’t want to miss after all! At this point, for me, I am just stoked that the tubing season will be saved and the summer won’t be as disappointing as the winter has been up until recently.
But man, can anyone get over how epic of a day Mon, Feb 20 was. It was a day we will all remember and the day we all wished we had a snorkel. Well with spring break here and more people being…

Jackson Hole: A Sight to See
If you ever get the chance to ride Jackson Hole, you should definitely take the opportunity. Not only is the In-bounds terrain amazing, the Out-of bounds terrain is unreal.

GET THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT
Everyone knows that you need to be well equiped to survive the cold. Now that we have had an off season you need to make sure that you have what you need to keep warm and alive in the deep snow now that its here. A good list of things you need is as followed.
x2 pairs of water wicking socks
base layers for your torso and lower body and head if you wear a helmet
insulating waterproof jacket that has a powder skirt and monkey fingers
snowpants that will be able to…

Silly amount of snow
Here in Steamboat it has been absolutely nuking snow for the past 2 and half days. Yesterday was the deepest snow I've ever ridden in. As of today's 3 pm snow report we got another 12" and its still coming down. This is what we have been waiting for all season here in Steamboat. It look like the snow is going to keep falling to.…

Caution- Heaps of Snow and Danger Await
With record snowfall in Steamboat it seems that all are scrambling to get in the most pow runs they can before it ultimately gets tracked out. Upon this happening I am sure that most will venture into the sidecountry to scope out and bomb yet even more untouched deep stuff. Caution is the word though since with large snowfalls comes instability. Make sure to bring a friend, check the reports, and be safe out there when looking for the deep hidden stash!…

FINIALLY!!
When the simple car duster/scraper doesn't cut it in the moring, and you defenitly need a shovel to get your car out of your driveway, you know it's gonna be a good day!! With around 40 new inches in the past 48 hours here in Steamboat Springs there is no need to look anywhere else for snow. Even with it being president's day weekend (and I have never seen more cars trying to park at this ski resort), the snow is so epic and soooo deep that it didn't even matter. There is…

Wheres the competition?
With all this new snow fall im hoping to see some contests and events. There have been some rail jams here and there, such as echo mountain and loveland. But i want to know when steamboat is going to throw down. Now is the perfect time to invite all those in doubt of snow to see the magic that has blown into town. Better late than never right?

The snow is finally here!!
All season I, as well as many others, have been waiting for some good powder to ride. Finally February is here and it brought snow here in Steamboat. If you havent gotten some nice face shots, you should get out on the mountain pronto. We have gotten about a foot in the last week or so, and it ha been amazing to ride. We took trips out to North St. Pats and East face, nicest powder I have ridin this year. We kept going down and down trying to find spots where no one has been. We found it. I…

Opportunist's Market for Gear
With this season's below average snow conditions all across the country and the latter half of the snow year creeping up on us, this may be a good time for those on a budget to look into that extra set of skis/snowboard, AT gear, splitboards etc. Almost everywhere I have seen in the last couple of weeks browsing through shops there are killer deals to be had. Online the blowouts continue and this means that with the right diligence in searching through the deals you might be able to add to…

Dangerous Activities to Do in Steamboat While its snowing.
First off Everyone knows that Steamboat Springs Colorado is renowned for their champagne powder. After mentioning that I should also mention that this Champagne powder becomes hazardous when the roads start to build up on the dust like crystals... So i've decided to compile a list of 6 activities that we do to make all the danger that much more enjoyable.
1. Wear Heels- We have woman from all over that wear some pretty uncomfortable things and with super slick roads and side…

Stay informed when going out
With all the recent snow fall and avalanche conditions starting to stabilize more people are adventuring out into the backcountry and side country. If you are deciding to make a trip into these areas make sure you check avalanche conditions as well as weather conditions. This is the Colorado Avalanche Information Centers webpage http://avalanche.state.co.us/index.php. I use this website a couple times a day. It is a great…
